Welcome to the RYHTI Study Modules
The RYHTI study modules introduce you to the basics of social entrepreneurship and the planning of impactful business activities. The studies are suitable for anyone interested in social entrepreneurship, sustainable business models and business activities that address social or environmental challenges.
The studies are divided into two parts:
Part I: Social Business Innovation
5 ECTS / 10 competence points (OSP)
Part II: Social Business Planning
5 ECTS / 10 competence points (OSP)
You can complete individual modules or the full study package, depending on your own interests and needs.
Part I: Social Business Innovation 5 ECTS / 10 competence points (OSP)
In the second part, you will deepen your understanding of impactful business planning and the practical development of business activities. The part covers topics such as market analysis, preparing a marketing plan, issues related to establishing a social enterprise, and opportunities for financing and fundraising.
This part supports the further development of a business idea towards practical implementation. It helps you consider how a social enterprise operates in the market, who it creates value for, where its income comes from, and what kinds of skills entrepreneurship and impactful leadership require.
Part I includes the following modules:
Module 1: Introduction to Social Entrepreneurship

Module 2: Social and Sustainable Entrepreneurship
1 ECTS / 2 competence points
Module 3: How to Find Social Business Ideas
1 ECTS / 2 competence points
Module 4: Creating Socially Sustainable Value
1 ECTS / 2 competence points
Module 5: Social Business Model Canvas
1 ECTS / 2 competence points
Part II: Social Business Planning 5 ECTS / 10 competence points (OSP)
In the second part, you will deepen your understanding of impactful business planning and the practical development of business activities. The part covers topics such as market analysis, preparing a marketing plan, issues related to establishing a social enterprise, and opportunities for financing and fundraising.

Instructions for accessing the study module:
1. Register as an Open Moodle user
Register on the Open Moodle platform at:
https://openmoodle.eoppimispalvelut.fi/login/index.php
If you have a user account from the University of Lapland, Lapland University of Applied Sciences, or REDU, choose the login method: Lapland University of Applied Sciences, University of Lapland, REDU.
Then skip directly to step 4.
If you don’t have an account, select “Create new account”.
2. Create a user account
If you have a user account from the University of Lapland, Lapland UAS, or REDU, skip to step 4.
If you don’t have a user account, fill out the form to create one for yourself.
3. Confirm your email address
You will receive a confirmation email from Lapinkampus Open Moodle.
Activate your account by clicking the link in the email.
Be sure to check your spam folder if the message doesn’t arrive!
4. Find the course and enter the password
Search for the course in Open Moodle by using the search function (click ”Courses” in the top bar and enter course name ”RYHTI Part I: Social Business Innovation” into the search bar) or you can enter the course link directly into your browser: https://openmoodle.eoppimispalvelut.fi/course/view.php?id=539
For second part use ”RYHTI Part II: Social Business Planning” into the search bar or https://openmoodle.eoppimispalvelut.fi/course/view.php?id=540
Make sure to use the same browser you used to confirm your account.
Enter the course password: 12345
5. Start your studies
You can complete the study module at your own pace. Good luck with your studies!
